pitch~ issue

January 24, 2008 | 2:41 pm

I have been having trouble with pitch~ (or analyzer~) not outputting
info if I open a patch with either object contained in it, close the
patch, and then
reopen without restarting max. Any suggestions?

built-in audio
max 4.6.3
pitch~ 1.3.1

I can reproduce this, and I’ll look into it.

Also I’ve seen analyzer~ put out spurious full scale-ish values on occasion (Brightness and Noisiness) during a smooth decay of a harmonic sound. The individual objects Brightness and Noisiness do not have this issue.

In version 1.4.1 of analyzer~ and 1.3.2 of pitch~, I believe I’ve fixed the problem where the objects would crash, or not work on reopening. I’ve uploaded macho versions here:

http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/downloads

and they’ll soon be on Tristan’s site. Let me know if they work or not.

Wow, guess I’m lucky today! I was just considering to send you a mail about this more or less reproducible crash when enabling dsp for the first time after loading pitch~. Your update seems to fix it, thanks a lot!
