play~ clicks on first play of 6 large buffers

dear list…

i am trying to play sequentially 8 6-channels file (~ 30 to 90 sec each)
first i tried multichannel sfplay~ with a sflist~ but it was not stable, sometimes the cue was triggered, sometimes it wasn’t
so i tried to increase the preloading buffer size up to 1290240 bytes. no change.

so i rebuilt my patch with very large buffer~, and now, the first time after loading the patch i play the buffer~ by driving 6 play~ objects with a line~ i heard clicks on the first playback.
after the first playback, it sounds good but it is quite disappointing…

does anyone have an idea how i can play sequentially 8 6-channels file in a reliable way in Max5 on a PC laptop under windows XP pro ?

thanks for your help…

Hey,

Did you make sure that the buffer size was the same on sflist~ and
sfplay~? You should not have any problem to play 8 channels track with
help file. What format of file is it? Which resolution/sample rate?

Could you provide a patch? You might need to make a fade in/out
depending on your file.
