play~ , how to apply Frequency modulation to this object?

Howdy,

I’ve made a patch some time a go, ’twas an FM synthesizer- i understood how to apply fm synthesis there, but now when it comes to applying fm to audio files, i find myself stuck. Since play~ has 3 initial values (the start time, the length , and the speed) i have to pack those. But i just cant seem to have instant update on the play speed.

My main goal is to apply cycle~, saw~, rect~ objects to the play speed, but this just doesn’t seem to work. Maybe i am doing this completely wrong : /

yes, that would do it, because you control groove~ with a sig~, which could be cycle~, saw~, etc.

also look to wave~
