Playing a matrix

Hi all,

Attatched is a patch I am working on, (orignally started by ‘Scatalogic’ on these forums)

I can play each row with a signal, the p jit.peek subpatch has a selector tool for cycle or saw with 24 different ‘sound generators’ that play each row (0-23)

what I would like to do now is to assign something to each and every coordinate (cell) as at present I am effectively playing each row

such as having a buffer that is played differently by each cell being active/alive/on (perhaps each cell could give a different playback position or loop end point etc etc

so If I wanted to play a buffer with the martix list data how would I go about this

feel free to chop and change the patch if you like

All advice is good advice

Cheers
Ali

Hey Ali, changed my forum name, but I’m still ‘Scatalogic’!

What you were saying about using a buffer made me think of granular synthesis and how the horizontal value could decide where in the waveform you are playing and then the vertical value could be speed or another parameter? There’s a granular example here to have a look at: Max5/examples/sampling/granular
Just a thought…

Glad to see you are still going on it!
