Hey guys - can't believe I'm still having trouble with this...

I read all the most recent tutorials on building collectives/ standalone apps in Max5 but I still can't get this to work. I built a simple patch that uses jit.qt.movie and jit.window to play back a couple videos (.mov files) and the patch works fine but when I try to play them back from the standalone version nothing happens. No error messages or anything, but no video either. Audio works fine, it's either having trouble recognizing those two jitter objects or opening the videos. In the build script I tried including all the files individually and within a folder, I tried specifying my toplevel patcher, including the entire cycling 74 Jitter externals folder, even tried downloading the jitter SDK and including the jitlib.lib and jitlib.stub files as per the old tutorials. What the holy hell am I doing wrong?

i've always had trouble loading files with standalones using any other method than specifying the full absolute file path to the file. you can create this path by using the "max sendapppath runtime_path" max message. you can combine this with a thispatcher object and the max message "max getruntime runtime", so that your patch works the same as a max patch, as a standalone.

if you can't get it worked out, send a simple patch and corresponding standalone app.
