Pluggo loads the wrong plugins ?? very weird behavoir – only tested in logic

Hello Cycling

i’m sure i read something about this issue some weeks ago, but I can’t find it…

When i try to load a plugin in logic audio, I get a different plugin ?

say, I wanna open my plugin called Jivecut, but instead i get some random pluggo plugin… it is only happening with one of my computers ??

I use OSX 10.3.9
Logic 7.1 pro
maxMSP 4.57
pluggo 3.4

any ideas ? fix ?

As mentioned recently by Tim, you will need to make sure the unique ID
for your plugin (in plugconfig) is actually unique.

i tried reinstalling pluggo after removing everything with your plugin remover. Now Logic dosen’t see any pluggo’s at all ??

Installation seemed to work fine, so I find this behavoir very strange !

i have checked in Ableton too, seem that pluggo just stopped working as AU.

i have also tried uninstalling 3.54 and installing 3.53 with same result.

i tried deleting plugconfig, recreate plugconfig and re-building the plugin many times, with no luck…

but the problem just got a lot worse, since Pluggo stopped working as an AU.

P.S. sorry about the numerous posts in this thread.

Did you run the AU Scan since installing?
Did you get any errors?

well this once happened to me too, after installing a pluggo update.
it finally turned out to be a file permission error.
i can easily reproduce it by changing file permissions on one pluggo
plugin (cycling or home made) to “read only” and subsequently all
other pluggos are screwed (names don’t match anymore as you
discribed). this is in Pro Tools LE on os 10.4.
so i would propose to go and check file permissions. for me it only
works if i have “read and write” permissions for ALL pluggos.
this is also a tricky one on multi user systems…

Thank you very much, seems to be the same problem ! I’ll give the permission thingie a go when i come home ;)

I almost get grey hair from this one !!!
