I'm trying to load 10-15 buffers with audio files, and frequently replace their contents. The size builds up quite quickly, and I consistently get an "out of memory" error after several times of reloading - although I have about 3Gb of memory.

One solution that I can think of is to use mp3's rather than WAV's...however the import feature takes quite a bit of time as the file is converted first.

Are there any objects out there that allow you to read mp3's as you do wav's - or any ideas as to why I am running out of memory so fast?

Possible to load mp3's without importing?
