I have no idea why, but every patch be it new, help, super basic I never get any sound.

All peripherals unplugged. Restart Max5, restart OSX, nothing. When I go to check my DSP, it will always say it’s off no matter what my DAC~ is at. I manually turn it on but…nothing. No sound. Not even any data gets put through sfplay~/buffer~/adc~/etc..

What can I do to figure this out?

=( am really hankerin for something. I have no idea what is going on. The thing is it was showing signs of something wrong before. I used to have to turn the DAC on and off 5 or 6 times and keep sending sfpay~ a 2 (for preload) for example and then something would click and start working. Now I can’t get anything.

Hey!

Thanks for the reply! I’m sorry it took so long to get back, I was workiin on another project.

The thing is if I open up the sfplay~ help file or any help file that makes sound I get nothing. I really don’t want to reinstall everything as it terrifies me that I might lose some of my current work.

I really don’t want to reformat because of all my other projects. It takes me days to get everything organized and backed up and I thought this would be faster..

What things can I do to troubleshoot? I’m beginning to think that my core-audio processor might be catching a cold or something. I mean I’ve got tons of weird “ghost in the machine” type stuff in Logic that I put up with too.

halp!

anybody have experience using time machine? I imagine it’s an image that would be restored and if I have this problem now…won’t I just copy the problem over?

Quite a coincidence. Someone posted a similar issue on the Apple Mainstage forum.
