I can't make my .objs work when [matrixoutput 1] - I am a real noob at 

my 3d program (Blender), but are there any precautions one needs to take 

while exporting to .obj in order for the matrixoutput to work? I get a 

few options regarding what to include in the export from Blender.

The objects show up when not in matrixoutput mode, and I can get the 

standard mushrooms.obj to output to matrix without problems.

maybe attach a model file so we can test it. it might be a platform specific problem?

i would also like to say i have had plenty of problems trying to get jit.gl.model to work properly with textures and matrixoutput 1.

You might try the file that Yair Reshef attached - name it 

"anything.obj" and it will load in jit.gl.model. Turn on matrixoutput 

and it's gone. Maybe it's connected to the fact that it can't find the 

material file, and thus sees it as fully transparent?

i dont think its connected to the material file because i get that with files exported from cheetah3d. i get the error message and warning about not being able to find the material file, but the object still works with matrixoutput 1!

instance in 1.6.3b2 Universal Binary. We'll look into a fix. Sorry

I can verify that matrixoutput for jit.gl.model is broken in this  
instance in 1.6.3b2 Universal Binary. We'll look into a fix. Sorry  
for the inconvenience.

with jit.gl.model - any chance that while this is being looked at,

i dont understand why yair's obj file disappears when i switch matrixoutput on, whilst the object i attached as text does not?

very odd... can anyone verify? maybe its platform / system specific problem?

but yeah, really need this to be fixed i have been itching to do stuff with obj files since jitter 1.24 - where jit.gl.model accepted the msg matrixoutput but didnt actually output anything!

as wetterberg states this object is useful, but far better when u can do stuff to the geom matrix in real-time.

Sure. It's on my list, but to be honest, we're mainly focused on Max 

5 work at the moment. I hope to find a time for a few days of focused 

Jitter bug squashing so we can get a release candidate of 1.6.3 done, 

but I can't tell you exactly when that's going to be.

I would love a doc/technote that says explicitly :

        to make a working model with working textures that are imported 

properly with texture coordinates and working drawgroups you must :

            use software xxxx as it properly outputs obj format as we expect 

it (it seems from some reports not all objs work)

            put your textures in /some/location/ and have them be of format

For those itching on this stuff. Even more flexible is to read in  
models yourself in the JS object using the File object. I had thought

Understood, but we spend more time in IDEs than in 3D modeling apps, 

so If you or other users of 3D modeling applications come up with 

this sort of info and can add it to dactilde.com or wherever, that's 

great. We don't currently have the time/resources to do that.

As stated in my previous thread, the only object that Ive seen work 

with textures with a freshly opened help file is trashbin. For 

whatever reason, trashbins textures load immediately, drawgoups work, 

etc. Apple.obj works if you swap material_mode off, and any object 

from any major 3D modelling app that ive tried exporting simply fails 

to load material files correctly (sometimes colors for groups are 

inverted, etc) and will not show textures (in my experience and 

others on the list) - even though verbose mode states it has loaded 

in the console. See my thread for exact info and version numbers and 

a link to an archive obj/materiel/texture zip

I'd love to have a look at that - it would definitely make life easier
