Problem with MIDI data not being sent to DX200
All of the sudden, my Yamaha Dx200 isnt receiving midi note-off events sent out by Max. A simple notein to noteout shows this. I press a key on my keyboard and the note is sent to the synth, but when i let go the note keeps sounding. It also sometimes plays a note when it receive the note-off message. I tried using flush but it also did not get the note-off to the synth.
Also, my Echo Audiofire8 driver doesnt seem to be coming up properly in the DSP status window. It doesnt show any of my inputs and outputs. I’m not sure but I think it might be causing my midi problems…its definitely making it so i cant get audio in or out of MSP.
Any ideas? These problems just all came up out of nowhere and I’ve even tried reformatting and only installing the basic things i need to run max. Now I can’t really do much with it at all.
EDIT: I have gotten my audiofire drivers to work properly…only problem still is the synth not getting note-off messages….
Im noticing also that any messages i send to the synth just make it play random hanging notes. I tried sending it values for controller 74 to adjust cutoff, but it just made notes play, and didnt change the cutoff…im starting to think this is problem only with the synth…

You need to find out where the information gets lost, it could be the
Midi interface, it could be the synth. Try to involve a different synth,
if that works its the synth. If it doesn’t, try a different Midi
interface… Try a sequencer if the problem doesn’t show up with the
sequencer, its probably a bug in your patch. (This is usually the
closest assumption you should always consider before reformating… ;-)
Its easy to mess up an already working patch…
