I’m trying to send serial commands from a computer to a video server.

When I use windows HyperTerminal in WindowsXP or goSerial (

 on an OSX (serial terminal for OSX), I have no problem sending the commands. Everything works fine, the server respond to the commands, and I receive an ok message in the terminal.

Then I try to do the same thing with the max serial object, and it just doesn’t work.

Exact messages or commands I have to send are: “adtec play” or “adtec next” or “adtec pause” …etc.

When I send this message from the terminals it works ok. But when I send them from max, the server doesn’t respond. In max I use the spell object and/or the atoi object to send these commands. (See the patch below). 

I’m using maxmsp 4.6.2 in OSX, and maxmsp 4.5.5 in Windows XP.

It’s very important that I get this going, so any comments are welcome!.

Serial communication configuration:
Baud rate: 38400
Data bits: 8
Stop bits: 1
Parity: none
Hardware Flow Control: none 

Exact messages or commands I have to send are: “adtec play” or “adtec next” or “adtec pause” …etc.
When I send this message from the terminals it works ok. But when I send them from max, the server doesn’t respond.  In max I use the spell object and/or the atoi object to send these commands. (See the patch below).

I haven't checked your patch, but I guess you have to add carriage 

return and newline character (10 & 13) to your commands.

I haven't checked your patch, but I guess you have to add carriage
