First, Mac Dual 2.7 GHz PowerPC G5, OS 10.4.8. Max 4.6, jitter 1.6

I've been looking at the forums for days... and can't find my exact

answer. I've been working on a patch and just realized that to take

advantage of my dual G5, I needed to have two instances of max. I

read somewhere that GL doesn't take advantage of dual cores yet, so I

thought that I would separate my jit.qt.movies/video tracking/frame

differencing to one instance and the gl stuff on another.

I was sending 3 matrices that went into 3 different jit.net.send's (ip

127.0.0.1-3 different ports) to 3 different jit.net.recv's on the

other other instance. Things were wonderful. The framerate was up;

the cpu usage was over 50%. I closed the patches and opened them

again, and now nothing works. I can only get 1 jit.net.recv to work

at a time, and that matrix seems to be going to the wrong port.

1) is this the best way to split up the work for each instance?

2) is this the best way to use jit.net.send/jit.net.recv?

3) why would it all work, then quickly not work again?

I realize that you are missing a lot of information without the

patches, but any help would be great. I'd be glad to send patches...
