I already read some posts about problems being very similar to mine but couldn't create a solution out of it.

I have a symbol which sometimes includes spaces.

These spaces " " I want to substitute with "_". This seems to work with

My problem is that the output is blocked if the symbol doesn't contain a space. I would like to have one output in every case.

If I use the output "unmatched" of regexp for symbols without a space I get two outputs for symbols with a space.

I'd only like to have one and if with a space correctly formatted.

Thanks but with that patch i still have the problem of getting

2 outputs if I type in things with a space like "a a".

"b b" gives me two outputs "b b" and "b_b". I would be nice to only get "b_b"

 I posted abstractions that parsed OSC addresses to/from pattr paths,

e.g. /mixer/channel/eq1 mixer::channel::eq1

I had the same problem if my pattr path had no '::' seperators,

Those abstractions have the regexps 'wrapped' by a subpatcher that outputs a single symbol (either the 'unmatched' or 'substituted' version, depending on the output of the regexp) that you should be able to use
