I'm trying to create a counting system with if/then statements. My addition methods seem to work in my modified version of the accum helpfile, but not in this patch. The numbers are wildly subtracting from just one number box.

It seems that the problem is that you're just putting the numbers all

into separate accum boxes. So, to do what I believe you want to do,

you would need to use one accum for each number box, and multiple

messages to add/subtract from that single box. I can't ever seem to

get the fourth metro box to click on, though--even when I hold a long,

loud note and bother my roommate, and the int. box says "50" or

Second, there is a logical error in your first (leftmost) section:

Here, if the "if" were true, it would output $i1 (which is 0), but

then "else" it also outputs 0. Either way you'll end up with 0. Keep

far right box: if $i1 >= 30 then $i1 else 0

You previously had "if $i1 >= 30 then THEN $i1 else 0" (my caps). Typo.

It works-ish. The issue now is that the number box goes crazy into the negative. I need to keep the value between 0 and 127 (this value is going to control external lights via MIDI) If I go into the inspector and set the min/max to 0 and 127, the number box will still continue to add/subtract. For example: the number box would show "127", but the value within the number box would be 200. I need the value to max out at 127 and subtract instantly if need be.

The first and third have a min/max set, the middle does not.

Through the magic of creative problem solving:

any ideas on how to slow up or stablize the input numbers beyond a line paired with a metro? Maybe a ~line then a metro?
