Processing with Max 5

Sorry if this has been asked before! How compatible is Max 5 with the Processing environment now, I know there was a 3rd party object for max/msp 4 but haven’t gathered much intel on this lately I just want to know if it’spossible for the two environments to send control and data messages to each other

hope everyone is well Wink

Osc is your answer.

Have a look at flosc. I think it works for Processing.

Here’s an example to make Processing works for PD.

http://www.gacevedo.com/PD/pd2p5.htm

Simply use updsend and udpreceive in Max instead of the PD netsend.

I made flosc work with Flash, not so easily, but I’m an actionScript newbie. If your familiar with Processing, maybe it’s going to be easier.

Good luck.

Just tried it, works really well.

in max5 you can host your processing sketch in the jweb object to integrate it in your patcher…didn’t try this with osc yet tho

I’ve also used this with no problem. flosc is for flash, not proce55ing.

You can also export your processing sketch as an application and then automatically load it when you start your max patch using aka.shell (or similar). oscP5 library works well with CNMAT osc-ROUTE, etc.

Here’s an example. Open the Max5 patch.

best,
