I’m working on an external that hosts patchers internally. The problem I’m having is that ideally I’d be able to rename the patcher window, and also receive pupdate messages to tell me when the patchers are are updated and resaved.

I’m using complier #ifdefs for bits of the project where the 4.6 and 5 APIs differ, and in Max 5 this works fine. However, for the time being 4.63 is more important to me, and here when I do this (to set the window title:

wind_settitle(PatchSpPtr->thepatch->p_wind, windowname, 0);

I stop receiving pupdate messages for the patch (the renaming works fine). If I don’t rename I get the pupdate messages.

I figure this must be possible as poly~ manages to do it, but obviously there’s something about the API that I’m not aware of…

Any chance of finding out what it is?
