Qlab and Max creates a digital glitch

Hi

I have this weird issue routing Qlab into Max. I need to do this to add a crossover and some delay effects to the Qlab signal before it goes to an RME fireface 800 for performance in dance show.

It sounds great for a while then intermittent distortion blasts through the system; this doesn’t happen when running directly form Qlab to the RME, or running max to the RME using the same sound files as played in Qlab,

This glitching seems to happen for a lot of people when running other software into Max via Soundlfower. I have no problem with Spotify/Youtube/Audacity etc into Logic, any other sound card, or the Mac speakers, in fact it is my preferred routing process. The problem only occurs wen Max gets involved. The same problem occurred when I ran Spotify through Soundflower to Max (adc~ to *~ to dac~) to test.

Any help very much appreciated

Various Macs running 10.6.8, Soundflower 1.6.6, Max 6 Qlab 2.3 Max 6

I have tried adjusting vectors and sample rates in Max but this doesn’t help
