question about poly~

April 25, 2008 | 2:27 pm

Hi,

I’ve successfully designed my first relatively complex synth patch in Max, but I’m having trouble making it polyphonic. I understand how poly~ works, more or less – my question concerns getting my settings to apply for every instance of the synth. For example, I have many number boxes and umenus (volume, pan, waveform, lfo, pulse width, etc, etc.) that I need to control. How do I go about using this synth in poly~ and having only one set of ‘master’ controls?

Thanks,
Jay

Use the "target 0" message (send to left inlet of poly~). Then any messages go to all poly~ voices.

There’s a target message to poly~. Target 0 targets all instances.

That said, you may be better off with send and receive.
