Questions about wavelet~

November 27, 2006 | 11:10 am

Hello,

Some of you may have noticed that the last MachO version of CNMAT’s
objects include a wavelet~ object.

Any idea of what kind of processing can be done between the analysis
and the resynthesis? What kind of information is generated by the
analysis?

I know wavelets can be applied to data reduction, but is there any
direct musical use?

Short answer: I haven’t a clue.

We’ve changed to CNMAT: Center for No Music and Audio Technologies. :-) I’m joking, but we are letting science lead the way on this one.
