quick question about send or sending by message

hi,

what the best to use ?
[send name] or [; name var] ?

a brief summary about the difference will be interesting.
or is it in the documentation ?

I wouldn’t care too much. I just know that a send/receive pair
internally is exactly the same as a patch chord. I would not expect the
[; name var] to be the same, but who knows.
Another approach I am using more and more, though it is more expensive,
is pattrforward, to send messages directly to objects. This is much more
self documentary as you can read the path to the object, and it doesn’t
need receive objects…
I usually prefer clarity over efficiency. Regarding to your decision I
would say the send is more clear and easier to debug, as you can jump to
receive points…
