have you installed Pluggo recently?

pscottm's icon

no, i recently migrated to a new computer and haven't put pluggo on yet. (don't have pluggo 3 yet, running pluggo 2 on older machine).

i installed current version of radial (v1.35) and radiaLFO is not in the package.

Hi - I'm a new RadiaL owner of 2 days, loving it - one of the things that sounded great when looking at reviews was 'Gregory Taylor’s radiaLFO' as mentioned here:
http://mitpress2.mit.edu/e-journals/Computer-Music-Journal/r eviews/29-1/schedel-radial.html
I forgot to look for it after I downloaded the demo in all the excitement (!) and having just purchased/joined the forum found this thread.
Does this mean that the lfo plug-in is only available with Pluggo now? Or was it never available with radiaL?
Sad if so. That would be more than icing.

Sorry about that.

Here it is.

You'll need to delete the space between Downloads and /Webhome to make the link work.

Cheers

Is there a problem with Radialfo or is it my set-up/incompetence?

I can't seem to get the phase parameter to work. Basically I'm trying to acheive circular panning, i.e. a left-right pan at the same rate as a modulated volume. I've set up 2 seperate LFOs running at the same frequency - one for volume and another for pan.

The problem is that they both seem to lock to give me the volume extremities when the pan is hard left and right (I want them when the signal is centered). Fiddling with the phase should help but doesn't seem to affect anything.

Occasionally I can sort of trick it to get the effect I want - but it's really unpredictable.

Can anyone help? Any ideas for another (free & simple) plug in that could achieve my aim?

Cheers

Well thank goodness for this thread. I was very close to purchasing radial (even though it does seem to have an uncertain future) but installing the missing radiaLFO was the 'tipping point'! Everything I had hoped to have in radial, an 'animated', phrase phasing looper, presented itself once radiaLFO was put into the picture. You should DEFINITELY get it back into the demo download again.

Have now purchased radial (packaged via audiomidi.com) and have had many an inspiring session with the demo while I watch and wait for it to arrive. I hope that inspiration will also strike the authors once again to keep this product alive but if not I will certainly get a lot of great stuff out of this product I somehow missed these past years ;-)

Just to be sure (and thanks for including the data about machine and pluggo,
although the radiaL version's not included), did you download it frm here?

If so, can you describe how it doesn't work. Since you've got pluggo, you
could add a copy of Generic Effect to radiaL, choose Messages from the
pop-up View menu on Generic Effect's front panel [which will report
status of the plug-ins you load] and *then* try loading radiaLFO. That might
give us some idea of what's happening.....

Dear Gregory,

I found one copy of radiaLFO on my external backup HD and its dated (26/05/07). That one works fine.

It looks like the version on the incremental downloads is older one (26/06/06).

Anyway, thanx for the fast response :)
