random name creator

November 5, 2008 | 5:47 pm

Hi,
I’m trying to make a patch where I can create a random name for a file to record to with sfrecord~. I’ve come up with this so far but Ive become a bit stuck.

I have a space in the filename and I can’t think how to get around this.

Can anyone give me a few pointers please? Maybe I’m just going about it the wrong way?

Thankyou.

Miles

I think sprintf is the way to go for this sort of things.

sprintf or combine are the objects that you’re looking for. You also
don’t need all those delays, bangbang object (or trigger) is all what
you need to make sure of the order of the messages.

Thanks all for your replies. They were most helpful.

I’ve gone with the sprintf object.

Thanks ej for the bangbang tip
