Hi - I'd like to be able to have counter "hold" a number every X numbers. So, for example, with a value of .5, 1 out of every 2 count, counter pauses. With a value of .75, one out of every 4 numbers, counter pauses. I would also like to be able to take irrational numbers and convert them to the nearest rational number within a given range, to determine how often counter should pause with, .3762 for example.

And if the value were to exceed 1, I'd like counter to be able to "jump" numbers. So, with a value of 2, counter skips 1 out of every 2 numbers, etc. Like above, but skipping instead of holding.

I am thinking this might be done best in javascript. The concept is simple but the solution is eluding me. Can anyone help me out?

Hey, we don't mind. I like small making smart solutions for things like this. While your patch works fine, I set out to make it easier to read or maybe simpler. First I made this one:
