re-trigger loadbangs/loadmesses

October 8, 2013 | 2:39 am

i have a vague notion that there may be a way to get max to retrigger any loadbangs and messes in any open patches, maybe by sending it a message? like (;max loadbang)?

does anyone know of a way to do this? is there a js perhaps?

just send a bang in its inlet?

You can also cause loadbang to send out a bang by double-clicking on it in a locked patcher, or by sending a loadbang message to a thispatcher object in the same patcher.

As with the loadbang object, you can also cause loadmess to send out its message by double-clicking on it in a locked patcher, or by sending a loadbang message to a thispatcher object in the same patcher.

Hi Tobias,

or by sending a loadbang message to a thispatcher object in the same patcher

that sounds promising. i’m hoping to do it remotely without having to go through an extensive patch with lots of loadbangs etc, hence the message to max or js idea. i’m hoping it might be able to be done globally too

It can be done universally with the "universal" object, though it will take two messages, one for loadbang and one for loadmess.
