reading txts files

Hi everyone. I was trying to display various txt files through max objects
but they all seem to have the same problem: I need latin american characters
to be recognized, like accents, but instead of displaying the characters I
want, they are substituted by others.
Im sorry I havent got an example with me here, but if needed I could paste
some script to show you what i mean.
Is there any way the patch can be configured to read these characters as
they are actually written in the original txt file?

thanks a lot!

There was a thread on this only a few days ago. Please check the
archives.

And for cryin’ out loud tell us what OS you’re using and what text
processor. How are we supposed to help you if we first have to guess
these things?

Max will, in may cases, read text with diacritical markings just
fine. But it’s your source text that needs to be configured, not your
patch.
