Reading/writing table or coll data from Javascript

Is it possible to write and read data in a table directly from a js
object without having to create a regular Max graphical connection
between the js object and the table?

Same question for coll.

I think the javascript example "example-describe" in the
patcher-script folder in Javascript examples does something similar to
this, P

This is not currently possible (without using a direct connection)
