Real time pitch shifting - is there always a latency?

Hello,
I know there are a number of threads about this but they are primarily concerned with quality. My problem is not quality but latency. which ever tack I choose, gizmo etc there seems to always be a small latency. Obviously for playing live this renders the object useless for me. I have a macbookpro, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

I tried following a tutorial using the tapin/ tapout and phasor

but it still has a latency. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Latency in pitch shifting cannot be completely avoided but it can be more or less perceptible.

When using FFT the latency depends on the window size.

but what about using the tapin tapout and ophasor method, why a latency there when I have no delay in the tapin out values?
