Recipe 38: BrightLights

Just in time for your weekend barbecue, I’ve posted a new Jitter Recipe

BrightLights is another iteration of the now-familiar jit.expr-based
method for drawing textured quads with jit.gl.mesh (see also recipes
#36,#37). This version uses the luminance of the video input to rescale
each of the sprites to create a light-grid display effect.

Included with this recipe is the ab.spotmask shader, which generates a
circular, feathered alpha mask for the incoming texture.

that’s awesome!! the only downside here fps drop to 12-13 al book 1,67ghz jitter 1.6.3

That’s quite possible. Try making the texture smaller and see if that
helps (you’ll need to change the spot position to center again). You
will probably also find that it will slow down at high multiplier values
and low thresholds.
