recommand a synth

July 10, 2008 | 10:04 pm

Hi all,

Hey all,

I’m a Max/MSP user for interactive applications, I have just started doing some work with sound and I need some help picking a good sound module with a reasonable price that would work well with Max. I have experience with Yamaha EX7 and Max but I’m looking for something a bit more up-to-date (for example USB connection would be nice!) do you think getting a workstation synth is a good idea?
or should i look into rack + MIDI controller?
what products do you recommend?

Meaning? Midi conformity?

USB connection for what? Midi only? Or do you mean audio as well? vst
integration?

No. Hardware synthesizers are good for a lot of things, but workstation
duties aren’t it anymore, if you ask me. Perhaps getting a second
computer to do these things would be cool?

See above. Rackmount computer, perhaps?

the list is just too long, if you ask me.
I’ll try to help out if you get more specific reg. your needs and budget
etc.

hi Mani !

I woluld tend to think , that maybe you should invest in VST plug-ins ect….

The list of high quality sounding syhths is now very extensive.
Now even comming in bundled packages ect….

what kind of sounds are you looking for ?
