reduce the rate..

January 17, 2006 | 2:06 pm

Hey all..
I am pretty new at max and once again another hurdle.. i have tried a
lot of stuff but could not get it to work..
Basically I have got a changing value that is attached to a vr.. and it
works great..
except the values change to fast and the vr just swish left and right..
i was wondering if there is something i can use to like slow down the
incoming values…i dont want to just take odd numbers out or just take
every 5 digits.. this makes the pans to jump.. so basically to smooth
the pans on a vr but have the rate of incoming values reduced…
I hope I havent made this too confusing…
thanks

Have you tried the [slide] object? That might do what you want.

Maybe a combination of ‘speedlim’ and ‘line’? Speedlim will slow the
arrival of events, and line will smooth out the bumps. Check out their
help files and manual pages.

after reading this three times …

value [sig~] [snapshot 40]

or if you do not mind a delay:

value [sig~] [avg~] [snapshot 40]
