Regular quicktime mov imported incorrectly by buffer~

July 13, 2007 | 3:25 pm

Hi all,

I’ve got a quicktime mov with one sound track, no offsets, just a regular quicktime movie, but it is imported wrongly by buffer~

This is the file:

http://www.smadsteck.nl/problem.mov.zip

(I zipped it to make downloading easier)

When I import this file in buffer~ like so:

#P message 232 152 72 196617 import 0 -1 2;
#P newex 232 170 44 196617 buffer~;
#P connect 1 0 0 0;

.. it only imports the first half of the file. The file is 30 seconds long but the buffer only finds 16 or so seonds.

Could anyone try and see if you have a clue what might be wrong?

Highly appreciated,
Mattijs

the problem seems be the header of your .mov-file…

however…

if you have a look at it with soundhack,
you will see that the length of the file is 16.725 ms
which is the same length that
info~ says about the loaded problem.mov-file-length…

try this one:

http://hennig.schwingkreise.de/_download/problems.mov

if you also to define
2 channels of the buffer in advance
it also reads both channels of the file…
