RenderMan/3Delight External

May 31, 2010 | 5:12 pm

I’m just about to start work on some externals that will allow me to use 3Delight via the RenderMan API directly in Jitter. I’ll share them when they’re ready (including source so that people can use it to interface with other compliant renderers if they wish). I just wanted to check that nobody had already done such a thing. A Google search did not provide anything and neither did the Cycling74 forums.

Hello
Will be a really great feature. and I’ve never heard about such stuff.
I would love being able to program external myself. I’m just learning Python and I won’t get much time to learn other programming toys.
will 3Delight support openCL (or CUDA). It seems that everybody is moving to real-time render through the use of openCL. (3d package + compositing)
Will be great to access openCL with Jitter. Maybe in the next release ?
