[REQUEST] "Open on single click" attribute for abstractions and sub-patches

September 22, 2010 | 5:26 pm

Hi,

I’d love to open my many abstractions in my patches, without the need of double-clicking, but by just single-clicking on it. Maybe an "open on single click" attribute for abstractions and sub-patches could be nice.

Thanks,
Alexandre

Perhaps you could put a message box on top of the object and connect it up to some kind of opening functionality with the thispatcher object

Yes i did this before. You know, it was just an idea for simpler patching.
I’m even wondering: Why do we need double-clicking to open a sub-patch ? (if a sub-patch should not be open by the user, then the "ignore click" attribute works in locked mode for sub-patches and abstractions.)

Thanks,

or [pcontrol], I use a [textbutton] with a name for the subpatch and open it that way, hiding the [p subpatch] object entirely.

Assign a spare mouse button to double click. RSI sufferers unite!

Yes seejayjames, i did that too before, there various ways to do it.
But I just wanted to put an idea for simpler patching.

Just curious, can you explain more about this ?

If you have a mouse with spare buttons, you should be able to use a 3rd-party utility to assign a spare button to be doubleclick. On the Mac, try USB overdrive. For Windows, I have no idea.

Hum, thanks, in fact i just had a look on the meaning of "spare". There are always new words in english. :-)
