I may need to teach some Windows-based MaxMSP users basic mxj
development, but I’m entirely Mac-based myself. I’m assuming they
already have MaxMSP 4.5 or 4.6 installed on their Windows machines
and I want to get them up and running with an [mxj quickie] straight
away. i.e., compiling classes as well as running them. Could anyone
clarify exactly what is needed for java installation on windows (with
a link to the right download if possible) and any problems that might
arise depending on different setups?

You should just be able to install max and the latest jdk from sun
and all should be fine.
Also, as far as quickie goes, the next release of max fixes the
problems on OS X where
compilation errors were not appearing in the compile window. Thanks
to JKC!
