Resources for JavaScript in Max6

I’ve been getting very heavily into JS in Max6, but have found it difficult to secure some reliable resources to get me past the learning curve. I’ve recently found Jeremy Bernstein’s excellent videos (in 3 parts) on Vimeo. I’ve struggled over the past few months to get reliable information, but now find (happily) that I’ve learned most of what Mr Bernstein goes over, but it’s still useful, and I highly recommend them.i don’t recall running across any mention of them when searching for JS and JavaScript. Personally, I think there should a lot on JS in Max6, and easy to be found.

One of the resources we do have available to us is the 68 page “JavaScript in Max” which is only referring to Max v4.5 dated 2005. I offer myself to work on updating this reference, but I can’t do it alone. I ask for nothing out of my efforts other then to be able to help create a resource which is accurate and easy to follow, deals with Max6, JS v1.6 (jaegermonkey). I am willing to do most of the work, graphics and all.

Who would find these updated resources helpful ?
. . . and, who is ready and willing to work with me on this ? Anyone from Cycling74 ?

I plan to provide some video tutorials specifically on JS in Max6 after I develop a more complete understanding of the implementation.

I for one could certainly use something like this. I actually thought I knew a thing or two about javascript until I started trying to do things with it in max. It would be nice if there was a resource geared towards non-pros. On the web I can get by with basic knowledge, in max I cannot. I’ve come to accept that I cannot expect cycling74 to explain it to me like I’m stupid, perhaps you can :)?

These are not Max 6 specific, and they’re really basic, but FWIW:

Thanks for the responses, and I really appreciate your input.

@RobRamirez : Understood on the wiki.

@Lokua : I’m actually completely surprised that yours was the only response on this being useful. But then again, this little tidbit may well have eclipsed into oblivion in the shadow of Mira; admittedly, “one giant step for Maxkind.” :-)

@Chris : Thanks for the links. I’ve downloaded and will take a look at them shortly.

Q: Can anyone explain to me how to get the JSONreadwrite to provide some kind of feedback ? The zip is the one at the bottom of this page ?

@Chris – thanks for those :) The numberarray.js is quite helpful.

The information I have culled thus far still does not leave me in a position to fulfill my commitment of developing some great learning and reference materials for JS in Max.

Is that all you got ?! C’mon, bring it on ! :-)

I just saw this… I can’t believe they’ve set up a wiki, didn’t include it in the documentation search and didn’t even put comprehensive documentation in it. I don’t get this at all.

We really need Gregory Taylor back. His documentation in the PDFs in the max 4 days was absolutely gorgeous.
