Hello max community.

I’m making patches with max6 and i’ve found much help in the forum by searching for questions. Thanks for the inspiration and different views on making patches.
Now, i have a problem for which i don’t seem to find answers neither in already existing threads nor the documentation.

I’ve worked on a patcher for quite some time and unfortunately i saved the newest versions over the older ones instead of making 2 files alternating the save status.

After my last save, the patcher crashes max while loading the patcher. This happened after i made a change with an immense amount of patch cords. I’m not sure if thats the problem, but since max crashes since then, i’m wondering if it is possible to undo the changes either by restoring an older version or by making changes through editing the patcher as text, which is still working.

Any input to the problem is greatly appreciated since i put a great amount of work in this patcher.

Thanks in advance.

Alex

Hello,

Have you tried to disable [loadbang] while opening your patch (with shift + cmd) ? http://cycling74.com/2011/08/08/week-29/

Hello,

AFAIK a version control system is currently not included in MaxMSP ; I use “Git” for that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Git_(software) , maybe you should considered to use it in the futur, but now and in your case, sorry, i have no idea how to fix it except debugging.

For future similar problems: I didn’t find a way to undo the save, but to edit the patcher as text is not as difficult as i imagined. Since, as far as i understood it, the later objects were made the bigger their number becomes, one can search through the text to delete them.
