Here is my patch below, I am trying to get two sets of midi (the other not show but identical) to two channels in logic to play different midi instruments… I think I’m in a right mess and have looked at all the rewire stuff and feel no closer to solving the problem – when I try to create new auxillary channel strips in the mixer it wont let me all the RW:MAX/MSP1 options are greyed out. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

Yeah, just getting nowhere fast. I only want to send midi data from one button to one channel strip in logic and midi data from another button to a second channel strip/midi instrument… I have tried lots of things. Selecting fromMax/MSP 1 for one makenote/noteout object and fromMax/MSP2 for another just doesn’t work either… confused. I’m using logic pro 8 and max 5.. any kind of help would be appreicated.
Thanks

Nicky,
If you simply want to send MIDI data from Max to Logic, I would not use the rewire object. Instead, use max’s noteout object. You will need to double click the [noteout] object in max to set the MIDI port. I’d suggest using “from Max MSP 1″.

The basic process for doing this can be found on my site under “max to logic (MIDI) ” and “more max to logic (MIDI)”.

http://home.lagrange.edu/mturner/MitchWebSite/logic_help_files.html

Take a look at this file to see pictures of how to setup Logic’s environment.

http://home.lagrange.edu/mturner/MitchWebSite/logic_help_files_files/MIDI_MaxToLogic.rtfd.zip

Hope this helps,
Mitch
