program a RING MODULATION patch with at least 2 main
sub-patches, these being:

(1) A first sub-patch producing ADDITIVE SYNTHESIS (with 5 oscillators or generators) and
acting as the carrier for the AM. The fundamental frequency for this sub-patch should
be given by a MIDI keyboard (a real one, i.e. not virtual). This sub-patch should be
able to produce at least 4 different waveforms (e.g. sine, square, sawtooth, etc.), so that
you may need to create 4 different presets with the ‘preset’ object for it. This sub-patch
must clearly show how the spectrum has been produced (i.e. amplitude controller for
each generator).

(2) A second sub-patch will be for the modulator, which it is up to you to decide how to build.

Am not its been educating myself but some parts dont make sense i might know the parts but just dont know they fit together properley

The first thing you should do is first google ring-modulation followed by AM and write your tutor an essay on the schoolboy-error misconception in assuming them to be the same thing. After writing this essay, transfer that research into a working max patch.

Seriously though, posting homework questions will not get you anywhere. Posting YOUR OWN solution to YOUR OWN problem first and asking for debug assistance however might just get you a few gems of advice that you wont find in the classroom

MSP tutorials 7 and 8 deal with additive synthesis and Ring Mod. Tutorial 9 is about AM but I am thinking that was a typo. It’s not that hard just give it a go.

my advice differs, because i am the only one in this maxmsp world who is not
a professor.

i´d say dont do any homework, do what you feel what could be kewl.

in case the professor or teacher thinks that you should do something which is
not based on your free will, question it, question him, and the whole university.

i think “liquid channel” and “tau editor” somehow replaced it.

Thanks for the people with helpful comments ive done research looked at tutorials but also not something ive done or have much example in doing and have been trying but i have education problems so things take time to understand
