RME FF800 troubles with Max5

Hello,

i’m experiencing *lots of troubles* with my RME Fireface 800 and Max 5.
These troubles DO NOT occur in any other audio application, including
Max 4.6.3. My RME is up to date (latest firmware, latest drivers).

But Max 5 doesn’t want to be ok with it : choppy / crunchy sound,
whatever IO / Signal vector size used.

I’m on XP SP2, Max 5.0.5, and i’m plugging the FW cable into my laptop
through an ExpressCard (Texas Instrument complient).

best

FWIW, I am using an RME FF800 with Max 5.0.5 on Windows XP Pro SP3 and have not had the problems you describe. I am also running the latest FF drivers (from 12/15, I think).

I am using a PCI firewire 800 card in my desktop, though.

Have you fiddled with the buffer size (i forget what it’s called) in the FF control panel applet?

sp2 firewire is broken, did you apply the fix?
