Hey, Im new to max and Ive just managed to finished my first patch for a module at university.
I was wondering,
I created the patch on a pc and “bounced down” or “built” the application down to a .mxf file on a Pc.

Will I be able to run my patch on a Mac?
Or do I have to “bounce down” or “build” the application on a Mac for it to be able to run on a Mac?

The reason why I am asking this is because part of the assignment is to run the application and present it to the tutor, as you might be able to guess, he runs on a mac.

hmm.
also….

When I run my application on a pc (.mxf file) it works perfectly fine in Max Runtime. But once I open the same file in Max 5.1 the application doesnt run. Instead objects and messages are missing e.g. “meter~:no such object”
Is this normal?
or have I forgotten to do something?

Much appreciated.
Pauld

You might have some trouble running it on a mac, but unless you test it before you hand it in you won’t really know. sometimes they can be troublesome, particularly if you are using number data.

:O I know.
But its okai now.
For some reason the messages have gone.

I have also taken gbrewer’s advice and sent the patch to some friends with mac’s.

Its they say its working fine in runtime.
so I conclude that…..
