hi !

i was wondering if someone already tried to compile a max app for windows, and to run it on a windows 7 tablet, such as HP Slate 2 or so…
i think there’s no reason to say it’s not possible, but i would like to be sure before buying one.

any feedback would be appreciated.

thanks.

did someone already run a max app on a windows based tablet ? what about performances ? msp ? jitter ? etc…

Actually, this is something I’ve been pondering also. That other post states:

‘I would say get an ASUS tablet or an HP Slate. Both run Win7, therefore also
run Max.’

From what little I understand of the ipad’s construction, the issue with running ‘Runtime’ on it had to do with the type of processor it was constructed with (again, from memory, don’t take this as gospel!).

I would assume that as stated above, from the link mentioned above, this would be amazing if this were the case.

Has anyone tried?

i was also wondering about multitouch.

I have tested Max on an ASUS EP121. I installed Max runtime on it and it works pretty well. It is no i7 but can run audio and I can control it using the touch screen pretty nicely. It only does singe touch point detection.
Installing ASIO4ALL on the tablet is highly recommended.

I think this is a much better setup than an iPad running TouchOSC.
I not only use the ASUS tablet as a control surface but I can also take my
composition environment with me.

I believe the issue here isn’t whether the tablet is multitouch or not, but that the Max runtime (and/or your patch?) needs to have multitouch support built into it. If something is made as standard windows program, it is designed for mouse interaction which there means only a single touch point would work.
