sampling rate question

I have a logitech webcam. In The audio-MIDI setup it says that the only available option is 16000 Hz and mono 16bit. However, in the DSP status window, the only option is 44100Hz mono (I do not know where to find the bit resolution) Is there a way to force MaxMSP to use the 16Hz setting?

Not sure if this will work, but you can look into the [adstatus] help file, which lets you manually monitor and control the DSP stuff. Just like the DSP status window does, though it’s all hidden… try unlocking it (it’s just a patch after all :) and see how it all works, pretty slick.

Possibly even if you can’t get it to choose 16kHz, using 44.1 would be fine. Check to be sure you’ve chosen the right audio input device (the webcam versus the internal sound card).

I’m not sure about the bit resolution though. Anyone?

Thank you for your help but Max only gives 44100 Hz as an option. Is there any way I really can force Max to go 16kHz. The logitech is not capable of more.
