saving a patch

I attached pattr to a matrix controller that I was using as a drum machine and for some reason I can’t open up my patch anymore. Is there anybody that knows how I can possibly save this file??

open as text destroy the pattr object that you suspect is causing the
problem, save as different patch… try openning this new patch as
usual.

I can’t open as text because I only have the mxb file. I open that and all I get is crazy symbols.

Go into max and then do the open as txt thing, shouldnt come up as symbols, should be standard max code. Then just find the pattr object and eradicate it! if that doesnt work, might be worth looking for loadbangs and stuff, they can also cause problems too.

i think you can select “open as text” from the File menu in max, and it
will open an .mxb file as .pat text.
