saving presets by name instead of number

March 23, 2011 | 11:12 pm

Hi guys,

I have a patch here that I have made to assign audio files within a folder on my hard drive numbers when opened for the first time, and also to output that number each subsequent time the file is opened, so that I can save and recall preset values by file name.

The reason for doing this is that the files in the folder that the umenu is looking at are regularly being added to and deleted, and I could not find a way to save the presets by name instead of number, so making a patch that assigns numbers to the file names seems the most logical way to me. I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has come up against this problem, and if so maybe you have a better way of doing it, or could give some feedback as to how I could possibly go about it in a different way.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
