Scale bug?

No, not the insect, but this:

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

First click the message box "1". Scale correctly scales Uzi’s output 1 – 40 within the range 0 – 1. Now click message box "1.06", which should produce an exponential curve in the same range, but on my computer produces numbers above 1.

I tested this with uzi’s baseline set to 0, and then scale works correctly (i.e. 0 – 39 is correctly scaled to 0 -1, even with the exponential curve).

Is this a bug?

J

not sure if THAT is a big, but [scale] HAS bugs when it comes to the exponential scaling.

That’s useful info! – many thanks

Let’s call it an historical weird way of calculating exponent… mainly design to work with MIDI values to control audio slider. For compatibility reason it’s not going to change. expr is your friend.
