I've run into a problem with the SDIF-buffer, SDIF-tuples, and threefates objects from the CNMAT Max extention. I've been using SPEAR to create SDIF files, but when I try to use them I get the following error message in the Max window:

error: threefates: 1191-element input is too big, so I'm dropping it as if you'd never sent it.

I've used SPEAR to look at the SDIF files that accompany the download (moanin.sdif etc.) and I can tell that they've got less information in them than the ones I've tried to create. My guess is that I need to find a way to create SDIF files at that same lower resolution. How do I do that with SPEAR? Or if it's just a matter of reducing the amount of data in the file, could I use the deinterleave an interleave objects to siphon out some it? What else can I do to create SDIF files that threefates will like?

By default SPEAR catches a big number of partials in it's analysis. I usually go to the Edit menu and choose "Select Partials Below Threshold..." and press ok with the threshold at -60 dB. Then I hit delete. This prunes a bunch of very quiet partials from your model, making it more tractable. You might want to fiddle with the settings to get the sound you want.
