sending binary data with max

September 21, 2006 | 8:46 am

Hi every one
This is my first post here

I was wandering if anyone has experience with using max to control a kodak ektapro or similar slides projector. these projectors can recieve commands from a computer thru a RS232 Serial cable. the protocol (something obsolete called p-com) is some kind of simple binary type.
I want to ask if there if its possible to create a patch(program) in max that could send out such raw binary data.

any pointers or links would also be welkome.

cheers

Chances are excellent that the "serial" object will do what you want.
The data to be sent is a stream of numbers between 0 and 255. Do a
search through the archives (keyword: serial) for plenty of examples
of things people are doing.
