I am interested in building a device in Max for Live that will listen to an incoming audio signal and send a MIDI note when the audio's amplitude reaches a certain threshold. It's basically something I could use to send MIDI notes from a drum trigger, similar to how Drumagog works. I know that certain VST instruments can output audio AND MIDI in Live, such as Sonic Charge's MicroTonic VST instrument.

Do any of you know how (or if) I can output MIDI from an Effect or Instrument device using Max for Live?
