Hey,

I'm trying to switch a beamer on/off using the serial object without any luck.
I can select the right port called USB-Serial-controller and I set the correct baud-rate and other settings.
The only thing i get out of serial object is 'read 0' and 'write' (out the right outlet).

I attached images from the pdf of the serial messages of the Optoma GT750.
Don't know if the codes i send are correct,.. i attached the sample patch

I use this serial to usb converter: with a PL-2303 driver v.1.4.0

http://dx.com/p/usb-to-rs232-serial-adapter-cable-94539

I tried also another beamer without any luck. Even when I turn on/off the beamer manually nothing is coming out the serial object, what normally suppose to happen because RS232 is handshaking, right?

Any clues or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

hi, I don’t know much about the topic, but the word “beamer” is a so-called pseudo-anglicism for “video projector”, and isn’t really used outside of a few european (non-English-speaking) countries.

I hope you don’t find this condescending, i don’t know, I was thinking that this might help your googling a bit.
good luck,
