setting ctlout object

It is possible to set many ctlout objects to the same midi port, maybe using a message, not with the pop up menu?

Yes it is.
Have a look at the "outport.help" patcher in the ctlout help.

The message is just the name of the device. Have a look to the
midiinfo object.

make an abstraction utilizing loadbang, or loadmess #1 if you want something dynamic. bleh.

midiinfo is definitely needed. However I usually prefer to only have my
(midi) input/output
in one place and then using [midiparse] and [route] from there to keep
things tidy. Many ctlout objects doesn’t seem like good patch hygiene to
me…
